The Setting - Amsterdam

A shadow looms over this World of Darkness. Supernatural creatures believed to be born of myth and fireside stories are more real than you could have imagined. Every city has its dark underbelly and the Amsterdam of my chronicles is no different.

Here, you can learn more about what goes on, and where, in these final nights.

Locations

1. Central Station

Most of the mortals enter the city through the century-old station. With secret societies intent on the destruction of the undead and supernatural watching closely, Kindred are forced into more underground means to come and go.

2. Prince's Tower
The most important place in Amsterdam, as far as the Camarilla is concerned. This is where Maria Vanderhoff, the current Ventrue Prince, rules from her ivory tower.

3. Club Amontillado

A high-class establishment, which Vanderhoff previously ruled as a Keeper, still remains an important Elysium under the Prince's watchful eye. Meetings are often called here in the dark backrooms, away from the curious eyes of the mortal cattle that enjoys the nightlife.

4. Club Static

A popular destination for Kindred in the city. The basement boasts an exclusive nightclub, while the ground floor and attic contain Selene and Soe de Vries' art gallery and Haven. The Toreador sisters inherited the property after the demise of their Sire.

5. Tremere Chantry

A place of refuge and learning for the local Tremere loyal to the Camarilla. Callidora spends most of her time here sifting through ancient texts. The church-like building is protected with powerful blood magic to keep out unwanted Kindred and kine.

6. Kuei-Jin Temple

The temple stands proudly in the center of Zeedijk's "Chinatown". In it's bowels the Kindred of the East keep to themselves, their motives unknown to the western Kindred that inhabit the city.

7. Jakkie's Hut

Hidden deep in the magical forest, the Gangrel Jakkie uses this small hut as a home base in her hunting grounds. The forest is a place of great power with it's leylines obscuring the massive realm from those un-attuned or undeserving.

8. Alicia's Attic

The Malkavian Alicia uses this hidden attic to store her eclectic collection of trinkets and to hide out in when her foes are threatening to close in on her. It is said that only those connected to the Cobweb are able to locate the place.

9. Aisha's Shop

Ravnos are not often welcomed in Camarilla territory but an exception has been made for Aisha. Her stop is visited frequently by some members of the Tremere to purchase potions and ingredients for their experiments.

10. Sabbat Squatters

The Sabbat has failed to maintain a permanent foothold in the city, but reports exist of individuals and small coteries scurrying around in the Northern part of Amsterdam.

Territories

Nosferatu Territory

The Nosferatu control the entire sewer system under and around Amsterdam, but most of their entry points are located near the harbors. Their tunnels offer the best way to get around the city unseen, if you're able to pay the price.

Toreador Territory

The Harpies flutter around here, controlling and manipulating the nightlife and it's businesses. It's the first place to visit for any new Kindred to the city.. after they've paid their respects to the ruling Prince, of course.

Ventrue Territory

The area around Rembrandt park is characterized by the important businesses that have taken root. It's the perfect place for the Ventrue to exercise their control by pulling the strings that shape our world.

Anarch Territory

The Anarchs have always had a shaky relationship with the Camarilla, to say the least. For now, they're allowed to spread out in the Bijlmermeer area, but it's hard to say for how long they'll accept the scraps the Prince has been throwing them.

The Magic Forest

The forest is rarely visited by Kindred for it attracts creatures well beyond their understanding. Magic flows through the earth and roots of this place and an unassuming mortal will just see the the quaint lake, petting zoo and beautiful walking paths.

But shimmering just beyond that mirage is a realm that stretches much, much further.

  2. Very nicely detailed, Lisa. I'm working on some fan-fiction starring your main characters. Looks like I might have to set it in an alternate universe Amsterdam.
